Acoustic Barriers & Screens

Your Solution to Mechanical Noise Distractions

Acoustic Barriers & Screens

Don’t let mechanical noise issues become a distraction. Consider acoustic barriers – the best choice for mechanical noise problems. Acoustic noise barriers are used for mechanical sound attenuation. They reduce noise from a variety of sources in one location.

Offering noise control solutions since 1992 in Eastern Canada, Parklane Mechanical Acoustics products are now available in British Columbia through Vibra-Sonic Control.

Parklane Mechanical Acoustic Barriers come in a range of configurations, each one engineered to meet site-specific acoustic criteria, architectural appeal and structural configuration. Offered in different material types and structural configurations, engineers, facility owners and architects are able to have complete aesthetic control of the final product. Parklane Mechanical Barrier Systems are designed to local codes and environmental load conditions.

Sound Control or Screening – Your Choice

Parklane’s Acoustic Noise Barriers are modular in nature. This means that they can be easily interchanged between an absorptive noise barrier and a standard architectural screen. Acoustic elements are tested for transmission loss as per ASTM E90-9. They are also tested for sound absorption (ASTM C423-17) and they are rated for exterior application. This adds up to excellent products that reduce sound levels and noise pollution.

Architectural Flexibility

Flexibility in design is one of the key benefits of Parklane’s unique barrier framework design. Its design can be integrated with any architectural cladding system on the market. This means that Parklane Acoustic Barriers and Screens can be seamlessly added to any building façade and blend right in. It is truly an architect’s dream.

Easy Installation

Parklane barrier and screens are designed in factory assembled, complete wall modules. This saves time and money in that it alleviates the need for coordination with various trades and on-site modification.

Knock Down Format Option

When a more standard application is required, barrier structure and panels can be supplied in a knock-down format.

Advanced Structural Integration

Engineered to work within site-specific structural challenges, Parklane Acoustic Barriers and Screens are ideal for challenging sound transmission environments. This includes roof capacity concerns, limitation of anchorage to base structure and soil bearing capacity constraints.

The Barrier Design Process

Most situations are unique and customization is required. Our barrier design process is a seamless and straightforward way to best solve your mechanical noise challenges. We work with a professional team to develop effective barrier system solutions. This includes industry, acoustic engineers, contractors and architects. We pull together the right team to best meet your needs.

Success is in the details of our tried and true process:

  1. Assessment
In this first stage, we identify the core deliverables, assess the risk levels and document the design requirements
  2. Design
This stage includes outlining a functional integration plan and selecting base components.
  3. Analysis
Here we work to thoroughly understand the projects noise and vibration characteristics and system properties.
  4. Implementation
Manufacturing the components, turnkey installation and on-site management are all part of this final implementation stage.

With implementation, we can work one of two ways depending on the project. We can provide our Acoustic Noise Barriers to the General Contactor as a supply-only scope. Alternately, we can self-perform the installation with our installation teams and internal trade resources. Either way, we can customize our solutions to meet any project requirements.

Parklane Barrier Classifications

With a diverse line of Acoustic Noise Barriers and Screens, we are able to find a solution to meet a variety of requirements including budgetary, acoustical, operational and aesthetic.

AcoustaMod GR

Pre-Cast Reflective or Absorptive
AcoustaMod RT
Gravity Barriers

This barrier is designed for on grade applications specifically. Integrating with factory assembled panel modules and steel structure to a grade mounted concrete foundation system. The AcoutaMod RTR footing spans can be made completely flexible.

Cost effect and conventional, this sound barrier design is made up of PMA T&G Acoustic Panels that sit between vertical steel columns.

Pre-Cast Sound Barriers are made up of large preformed concrete wall panels that site between steel columns. These barriers are specific to on grade noise wall applications. The panels can be produced as an absorptive surface that can be applied to either facing of the wall panel or produced as reflective elements.

The AcoustaMod RT is specifically designed for rooftop applications. This modular steel frame design comes complete with PMA Acoustic Panel and all architectural elements in one integrated system.

In some cases the need to not penetrate a building may be paramount. In these cases, Gravity Barriers are a great fit. They are a versatile way to achieve effective rooftop screening without the need for building penetration. The result is – no holes, no leaks and complete flexibility.

As with our other noise barriers, Gravity Barriers are able to be integrated into any commercially available architectural cladding system. Architects have complete flexibility allowing them to blend the Gravity Barrier into the building façade. They are an effective and elegant solution to complex screening challenges.

As a self-supported system, the Gravity Barrier can be designed to meet any footprint requirements and geometric configurations. This ensures OEM mechanical clearances are satisfied and rooftop obstructions are avoided.

Gravity Barriers can be easily interchanged between a standard architectural screen and an absorptive sound barrier. Acoustic elements are tested as per ASTM E90-0 (transmission loss) and ASTM C423-17 (sound absorption) and are rated for exterior application.

Our standardized modular frame design allows for expedited installation timelines and mitigates the risk of delays, all while reducing the on-site congestion of trades professionals.
