Acoustic Barriers & Screens

Your Solution to Mechanical Noise Distractions

The best choice for mechanical noise problems

Acoustic Barriers & Screens block mechanical noise. They reduce noise levels from a number of sources in one location making them an efficient choice. Used specifically for mechanical sound reduction, acoustic barriers are the best choice for mechanical noise problems.

Parklane Mechanical has been offering noise control solutions in eastern Canada since 1992. At Vibra-Sonic we are proud to offer Parklane’s products throughout British Columbia

Parklane Acoustic Barriers come in a variety of configurations, each specifically engineered to accommodate site-specific acoustic criteria, structural configuration, and architectural appeal. Offered in a range of material types and structural configurations, Parklane Mechanical Acoustic Barriers seamlessly fit into diverse environments. Whether you are an engineer, facility owner or architect, our acoustic specialists will help you find the perfect solution.

Parklane designs to local codes and environmental load conditions.

Sound Control or Screening – Your Choice

Parklane’s Acoustic Barriers are modular in nature. This means that you can easily interchange them between an absorptive noise barrier and a standard architectural screen.

Testing ensures excellent products that reduce sound levels and noise pollution. We test acoustic elements for transmission loss according to ASTM E90-9. They also undergo testing for sound absorption (ASTM C423-17) and receive a rating for exterior application.

Architectural Flexibility

Flexibility in design is one of the key benefits of Parklane’s unique barrier framework design. Architects can integrate its design with any architectural cladding system on the market. Parklane Acoustic Barriers and Screens are a seamless addition to any building façade and blend right in. Being flexible they are an architects’ dream.

Easy Installation

Parklane barriers and screens are easy to install. They are factory assembled and designed as complete wall modules. This alleviates the need for coordination with various trades and on-site modification. This results in saved money and time.

Knock Down Format Option

In the case of more standard applications, barrier structure and panels are available in a knock-down format.

Advanced Structural Integration

Acoustic Barriers and Screens are ideal for challenging sound transmission environments. Engineers design them to work within site-specific structural challenges. This includes roof capacity concerns, limitation of anchorage to base structure and soil bearing capacity constraints.

The Barrier Design Process

Most situations require unique customization. Our barrier design process is a seamless and straightforward way to best solve your mechanical noise challenges. Our barrier design process is a seamless and straightforward way to best solve your mechanical noise challenges. We work with a professional team to develop effective barrier system solutions. This includes industry, acoustic engineers, contractors and architects. We pull together the right team to best meet your needs.

Success is in the details of our tried and true process:

  1. Assessment
In this first stage, we identify the core deliverables, assess the risk levels and document the design requirements
  2. Design
This stage includes outlining a functional integration plan and selecting base components.
  3. Analysis
Here we work to thoroughly understand the projects noise and vibration characteristics and system properties.
  4. Implementation
Manufacturing the components, turnkey installation and on-site management are all part of this final implementation stage.

With implementation, we can work one of two ways depending on the project. We can provide our Acoustic Noise Barriers to the General Contactor as a supply-only scope. Alternately, we can self-perform the installation with our installation teams and internal trade resources. Either way, we can customize our solutions to meet any project requirements.

Parklane Barrier Classifications

With a diverse line of Acoustic Barriers and Screens, we find solutions to meet a variety of requirements. Whether you have budgetary, acoustical, operational or aesthetic requirements, we can meet them.

AcoustaMod GR
Post & Panel
Pre-Cast Reflective or Absorptive
AcoustaMod RT
Gravity Barriers

The Acoustamod GR is for on grade applications. Integrating with factory assembled panel modules and steel structure to a grade mounted concrete foundation system. We can make the AcoutaMod RTR footing spans completely flexible.

This cost-effective and conventional sound barrier design consists of PMA T&G Acoustic Panels. The panels sit between vertical steel columns.

Pre-Cast Sound Barriers consist of large preformed concrete wall panels that sit between steel columns. These barriers are specific to on grade noise wall applications.

The barrier panels are available as:

  • An absorptive surface applied to either facing of a barrier wall panel
  • Reflective elements

The AcoustaMod RT is specifically for rooftop applications. This modular steel frame design comes complete with PMA Acoustic Panel and all architectural elements in one integrated system.

In some cases the need to not penetrate a building may be paramount. In these cases, Gravity Barriers are a great fit. They are a versatile way to achieve effective rooftop screening without the need for building penetration. The result is – no holes, no leaks and complete flexibility.

As with our other acoustic barriers, Gravity Barriers integrate into any commercially available architectural cladding system. Architects have complete flexibility allowing them to blend the Gravity Barrier into the building facade. They are an effective and elegant solution to complex screening challenges.

As a self-supported system, the Gravity Barrier can meet any footprint requirements and geometric configurations. This ensures that we satisfy OEM mechanical clearances and avoid rooftop obstructions.

You can easily interchange Gravity Barriers between a standard architectural screen and an absorptive sound barrier.

We test acoustic elements then rate them for exterior application Testing is per ASTM E90-0 (transmission loss) and ASTM C423-17 (sound absorption). Our standardized modular frame design allows for expedited installation timelines. It mitigates the risk of delays, all while reducing the on-site congestion of trades professionals.
